About Me ... Hello, my name is Betsy and I am the proud owner of ... Growlibear Graphics! I first fell in love with Helena's graphics at Graphic Garden, ...I loved them so much that I was inspired to create graphics of my own. With Helena's encouragement and guidance, I began drawing my own graphics and on February 13, 2003, "Growlibear Graphics" was officially established! The name "Growlibear" was my daughter Karen's nickname. When she was first born, every time she would nurse, she would make little growling noises and so she was given the name Growlibear! We actually called her Growli throughout her first year instead of Karen! Over time as I continued to draw I joined the Members Areas of a few graphic sites that offered their own graphics. I found that I admired what they had to offer and that it also was an inspiration for my imagination and creativity with my own work. So, after much thought and consideration, ...in October of 2006, I decided to open my own Members Area so that I could offer more of my own original graphics for others to enjoy and to hopefully offer some inspiration! Drawing is my passion, but I am only able to work on my graphics on a part-time basis, as I work full time in my home operating an inhome daycare called The Crayon Box. I am a Childcare Provider/Preschool Teacher and care for 6 full-time children. I work from 6:30 am - 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday. My designated hours for working on my graphics, updating my sites, and/or answering emails is during naptime from 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm. After my family is tucked into bed in the evenings, usually I will begin working around 10:00 pm and will continue working for a couple of hours each night. On week-ends, my time is limited because I like to spend time with my family. I am happily married to my handsome husband Kenny and we have three beautiful children. Kyle (age 19), Kirk (age 14), and Karen (age 8). We have been together for 31 years, and celebrated our 24th wedding Anniversary this past June! We have two black labs, Koalie and Kelbie, and two cats, Middles and Kuddles, ...oh and lots of fish in our pond out back.
